Ecowave project

The ocean has always been at the heart of EcoWave.

Not just a place to surf, but a space that teaches, transforms, and connects.

From the very beginning, we knew our mission had to go beyond organizing surf trips—we wanted the ocean to reach those who don’t have the chance to experience it up close.

That’s how the EcoWave Project was born—an initiative driven by purpose, bringing surfing, sustainability, and the values of the ocean to communities with limited access to the sport. We collect equipment, connect people, and carry boards, fins, and smiles to places where waves break, but resources don’t reach.

MORE THAN A
PROJECT

Surfing has given us a way of understanding life—patience, consistency, and respect for the ocean.

With the EcoWave Project, we aim to give some of that back—building bridges between communities, brands, and travelers who believe sport can be a force for change. Our goal is simple yet meaningful: to give surf gear a second life, and a first chance to those who dream of surfing for the very first time.

SENEGAL: STARTING POINT

During one of our trips to Senegal, we met a small group of curious local kids, watching us from the shore, trying to understand what we were doing in the water—that’s when we realized that maybe they…

That experience marked a turning point — we saw firsthand the real power of surfing to connect, inspire, and transform.

From that moment on, the first EcoWave Project took shape—bringing surf equipment to the area and introducing local children and young people to the sport, opening the door to future initiatives in other countries. Senegal is just the beginning. Our purpose is to keep bringing surfing to new places and continue creating a positive impact through action, collaboration, and a shared love for the ocean.

HOW WE MAKE IT HAPPEN

We collect and recycle

We want to give a second life to boards, wetsuits, and gear that are no longer being used.

Through our project, we collect equipment in good condition so it can return to the water—this time in the hands of those with less access to it.

This is the simplest way to contribute.

100% of the profits from all the merchandise we sell go directly to supporting our social projects.

We collaborate with brands, companies, and individuals who want to be part of the change.

From logistical support to visibility and funding, every collaboration helps take these projects further. Senegal is just the beginning.

During the trip, we don’t just deliver equipment—we teach how to use it.

We offer free surf lessons open to the local community, sharing our knowledge of surfing and the ocean, water safety, and ocean values. In addition, local schools commit to passing it on—offering surf lessons to those who need it most.

While it’s not the main purpose of the project, we document the entire journey—from the very beginning to the final delivery.

We want to show the real impact of what we do and give visibility to the stories behind it, through content and a final documentary.

ONE BOARD CAN
CHANGE A
LIFE

Every EcoWave project is made possible through the collaboration of people, companies, and communities that share a common purpose: to use surfing as a force for social and environmental change.

We believe one board can change a life.
And a committed community can change many more.
